Officially,
but in reality it all began in an attic room in Gramsbergen back in 1997.
Harry Haverkotte – after decades of working in machinery trading and rental – started his own business and was soon joined by Roy Haverkotte and Erik Brand.
Together, they transformed the then Euro Machinery BV into a company with 30 employees and an annual turnover of up to 25 million euros.

The company caught the attention of major global players. In 2007, the family business was sold to the Australian company EMECO, which aimed to implement its rental and trading model in Europe. However, in 2010, EMECO decided to withdraw from Europe, leaving behind the modern office building and workshop in Hardenberg, built by the Haverkotte family. For most of the former Euro Machinery employees, this marked the starting point to join forces once again and, following the trusted success formula, form a strong team and get to work – now under the name PRIMA Equipment BV.
PRIMA’s main activities include trading and renting earthmoving machines, attachments, and parts. Additionally, overhaul, repairs, service, and paintwork for third parties make up a large part of the daily operations of this family business based in Hardenberg.
The trading and rental focus primarily on young used machines from well-known brands such as Caterpillar, Komatsu, Volvo, and Hitachi.
To meet customer demand for a one-stop solution, PRIMA also keeps lift platforms, forklifts, trucks & trailers in stock, and occasionally crushers and screens.
PRIMA maintains stock across the entire range (especially in earthmoving), from Caterpillar 906 wheel loaders (5 tons) to a (refurbished) Caterpillar 992D (95 tons), and from excavators like the Caterpillar 303.5 (3.5 tons) to the Caterpillar 5110B (120 tons).
